Developing an Action Plan

Undertaking an energy audit will provide your practise with a clear picture of energy usage in your office and problem areas.   The next step is to develop an action plan which considers all aspects of your business.  This plan should be concise and easy to follow and could include the following:
  • Introduction - where we are at the moment (results of Energy Audit)
  • What do we hope to achieve? What are our goals?
  • What can we do immediately? eg turning lights off; switching off computers etc (Short term goals)
  • What can we do in the future? Eg buy energy efficient equipment, think carbon offset (long term goals)
  • Timeframe for review

Turning off the monitor screens at the end of the day, turning off power of all equipment and turning the lights off there were savings of 20-25% in 2007-2008 compared to the usage for the previous year. Crawford Architects
